Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Father to father Once again last night in the wee hours of the morning I found myself pondering about what it was that Abraham saw that day on Mount Moriah. Throughout the whole story of Abraham (whose name means, father of nations), we actually see a Father to father relationship. Whenever the Lord would appear or call on Abraham, there was always conversation. Abraham was not afraid to converse with God, although he always did so with great respect and reverence. He knew God and he knew God kept His Word, when He made a promise Abraham believed Him, and it was counted on to him as righteousness. The Farther shared many secrets with Abraham, details He didn't have to, but He did. Why, because Abraham obeyed Him and trusted Him. Abraham had no one else to cling to in the whole world, he left his family behind and went to a land he did not know. It was there God gave him the promise of a child, Isaac. The Lord shared with Abraham all the things that would happen to his descendents before they took possession of the land that He promised to give him. The Lord came to visit him before He went down to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. What's interesting about this is that in Genesis 18:17-18, "And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?" Since He shared and showed him all these things is it any wonder that the Lord God showed Abraham when he went to sacrifice his son that day, that in Genesis 22. The Lord stopped him but, in verse ” 12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” Abraham did not have to sacrifice Isaac but that one day the Father in heaven would sacrifice His Son, His Only Son, Whom He Loved. So that through Him all the nations of the earth may be blessed as well as delivered. You see Abraham's descendents were delivered from Egypt and through Yeshua every man and woman from every nation of the world can also be delivered and set free to follow after the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. For we know that the sacrifice of Isaac was a foreshadowing of the coming Redeemer Yeshua, our salvation Emmanuel, God with us!
