Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters The Deaf-Mute Sometimes I find when I slow down and read my Scriptures at a much slower pace things just seemed to pop out at me. I was reading through Mark looking for a particular passage when I came across Yeshua healing the deaf-mute. The story is in Mark 7: 31-36. Once again the crowd brings someone who needs healing to Yeshua. He takes the man away from the crowd. What I find most amazing about this is that this man was deaf, it doesn't say how long he was deaf because he had a speech impediment. There were several things that happened here. Yeshua puts his fingers in his ears then He looks up to heaven and sighs. Then He calls out "be opened". And the man begins to speak without any impairment at all. How could he have even known the language except maybe to watch other people's lips moving. Yeshua commands him not to say anything but of course they are all so amazed that word spreads. Why did Yeshua need to spit and touch the man's tongue? Why did Yeshua sigh before He commanded the man's ears to be open? Why did He take the man away from the crowd? Why did He have to stick His fingers in his ears? Well Yeshua said He never did anything except what the Father showed Him to do. I think Yeshua had been away that morning in the secret place with Abba and the Father showed Him the hearts of the people. They were always looking for a sign they knew He performed miracles. I think He separated the man from the people so as not to be a spectacle. Just like God used His Hands to form man so to Yeshua simply put His Fingers into the man's ears commanding they obey and work the way they are supposed to. I think just like Elohim breathed into the nostrils of Adam to give him life so to Yeshua put moisture back on that man's tongue so that it would speak and do its job as well. He was just finishing off in completing the job, He had been there in the Garden of Eden and once again He was doing it and they didn't understand. They didn't see Him for who He was they only saw Him for what they wanted. I think that's why He sighed. They said he did all things well yet the fear of the Sadducees and the Pharisees stopped many from acknowledging Him as Messiah. He wanted to give them life and life more abundant not just heal their infirmities. Although He did want do that also! I wonder how many times we to our guilty of the same thing. It's so strange as I write about this story, there is such a presence of Elohim in this room I have tears streaming down my face. Please read this story for yourself there is something special here! Feel Yeshua's heart and passion that He has for each of us. Not only did He heal the man and give him his hearing and his speech but through His ultimate sacrifice of His blood applied to our hearts we have entrance into the very Holy of Holies! Did this man come to faith in Messiah I think so! Probably not until after such a high price was paid for it. This weekend was remembrance weekend here in Canada as the saying goes, "Least We Forget"! I think it is far more applicable in the case of our Messiah! B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
