Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Turn the Other Cheek When I was a child I was raised in a Roman Catholic church. One of the teachings that takes place during confirmation is to turn the other cheek. If I remember correctly this ritual/teaching takes place when we are about 12 years old. Usually the Archbishop comes to your city and your church and when you go up to the front to present yourself to him reaffirming your faith he says some words in Latin and then slaps you across the face, not hard. You then turn your face and once again he taps you on the other cheek. When you actually experience this it really sticks with you! I remember talking with all of my friends afterwards some of them understood and some said that will be the day anybody ever slaps me across the face again! Lately it seems I've been watching the same thing going on amongst people who profess and declared they are born again and living for the Lord. Yet they are so easily offended. The minute someone says something they perceive wrong they are hurt. Worse yet they go about telling everyone how hurt they are by what so-and-so said or did to them. This not ought be so precious ones! It's good that we follow God's commandments, what about the one, "Love Your Neighbor As Yourself". It's easy to quote others Scriptures claiming who we are in Christ and it's true. Yeshua told us what to do, not only that He set the standard and did it Himself! He allowed the people whom He the Father and the Holy Spirit created strike His cheek and He uttered not a word! Is the created better than the Creator absolutely not, we are the clay He is the Potter Isaiah 64:8. We need to stop the senseless selfishness, let go of our egos and pride and humble ourselves before our God! How can we be successful witnesses for our Savior when we bicker and fight amongst ourselves? Or even when the world comes after us, even more so we should show grace! There is a case going on right now a high profiled minister's wife is been sued. Whether she was in the right or not is not what matters, the world is watching. I'm sorry if I sound judgmental here that is not my intent, there is only one judge, Yahweh. My intent is to remind you and myself constantly to continue in the words of our Savior Yeshua! "To turn the other cheek" (Matthew 5:39). Before this statement He says to resist an evil person. Only an evil person will intentionally cause harm to another. They may not even realize the position they are in, but if you act the way Yeshua told us to it will make an impact on that person, possibly even bringing about their repentance and ultimate salvation, and others will see it! Most importantly it will be glorifying your Father in Heaven and showing your love for Yeshua by keep being His words!
B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
