Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Jerusalem As I continued on my virtual tour they showed a picture of a model of what the Temple would have looked like during the time of Herod and Yeshua in the city of Jerusalem. I was reminded of the Scripture when Yeshua says, "oh Jerusalem Jerusalem, how I have longed to gather you in my arms as a hen gathers her chick's under her wings" Luke 13:34. All through the Gospels we read Yeshua telling us how He does nothing except what the Father shows Him or tells Him to do. He also tells us that He and the Father are one. If ever there was confirmation, clearly this statement confirms it. He knew the Fathers heart concerning Jerusalem He shared the same feelings for this place where earlier in Scripture He says His Name shall dwell there forever, also that His Eyes and His Heart will be there always 2 Chronicles 7:16. Just imagine once again He was lamenting over the place where His Torah was to be taught. Where His people were to gather to celebrate at different times throughout the year to enter into His very presence so that all the nations may know that He is the one true and only God. He longs and yearns for us to return to Him with our whole hearts and minds and strength. Why else would He be willing to give up everything to come down to earth as a servant to show us and teach us the proper way to live. To love Him and others and ourselves. We are to love others as we love ourselves but first we need to learn to love ourselves. We need to recognize that Yeshua paid a great price that we are created in the very image of God. He loves us passionately when we wrap our heads around that, at least I know when I do my heart softens towards everyone else. I want the rest of the world to have what I have. I want the rest of the world to know this great and awesome God that I know. When Yeshua lamented over Jerusalem He was showing us and sharing with us the very heart of the Father. Not just for Jerusalem but for all of us who are created in His image. We can never attain complete holiness or righteousness by keeping to every letter of the law/Torah. Our righteousness was bought and paid for by the blood of Yeshua our Messiah. His one request was that if we chose to follow after Him was that we would then keep His Torah and to love our neighbor as ourselves. It is winter here and bitter cold. I am very concerned for the homeless in our city. As I sit here and write this I am warm and comfortable with all the blessings bestowed upon me by my Heavenly Father, so many I can't even count them all. Yet out there are many who do not know the goodness of my God except I show them. Except I go out and help them, we have a few ministries here in the city that provide beds for them and soup once a day. I am physically unable to go down and help them but I can help them financially. We ought not to put restrictions or question why they need help. Other times it's just some one who needs a listening ear. Yeshua said if you see your brother in need then you should help them, my paraphrase. It starts with the relationship with the Lord out of that will flow mercy towards others. In this way it will prove to the rest of the world that we belong to Him and even if it doesn't it will prove to Him that we are listening and obeying the things He tells us to do when we listened to that still small voice. I know I'm preaching to the choir here and there are many of you who do this already. So be encouraged your Father in heaven sees everything you do in secret!
