Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Provision In Matthew Chapter 2 it tells a story of how the Wise Men came from the east bringing gifts to offer Yeshua. This was God's way of providing for His Son. The Father knew Herod would try to kill the child so to protect them He sent them to Egypt. Joseph did not have the funds to go and live in another country and support his family. They had only been betrothed just under a year before. Customarily it was his job to spend that year building a home for his new bride! Yes he had a good trade. A carpenter was far more than just what we think of today. They would have been someone who understood stonework and architecture as well. This would not have sustained him in Egypt. Egypt was a desert but the gifts that the Wise Men brought were for several reasons. They had significant meaning first in the fact that you give Gold to a King. This would not have been a small nugget after all these were Magi from the east in order for them to even travel far and they had to be well off. Then there was the incidence of frankincense used only by a high priest. Finally, Myre a beautiful fragrance one of the ingredients used in preparing the body for burial. He would be a great sacrifice for all of us. All things were provided in advance all that was foretold were laid before Him. The Gold help provide for Him and Mary and Joseph to escape and stay in Egypt. I'm sure they had to sell the other items as well but the fact that these street signs were given us amazes me. Yeshua fulfilled every prophecy ever made about Him. Even that He would go to Egypt which we always consider to be a type of the world. Then come out from their to grow up in Nazareth. How awesome our Savior is! How awesome our Heavenly Father Is. The Father provided for His Son just as He provided for us. He provided a way for us to have access to Himself. Not just access but Fellowship! Relationship! What was lost long ago in the Garden of Eden was now restored new life! By the power of the Holy Spirit given to us to comfort us and to help lead us into all truth, what more could we ask for! He loves us just as much today as he did when he first created man back in the Garden and He desires that deep intimacy with each one of us! He's calling us in the cool of the day always at our convenience come talk with me. Can you hear His voice, His heart longing for you, choose to pour out your heart to Him! Who better to tell all your problems to He is the only one who can truly do something about it. He wants to provide for you and me. We have become far too independent to simply rely on Him sometimes. I know I am guilty of that myself. "The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases, His Mercies Never Come to an End, They Are New Every Morning" Lamentations 3:23-24. Praise God!
