Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Commit Your Ways Once again Psalm 37: 5 says, "commit your ways to the Lord; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day.7. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently on Him; do not fret because of those who prosper in his ways, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.8. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret -- it only causes harm". What powerful three little versus these are! When we put our total trust in the Lord, He shall bring to pass our hearts desires and the things He wants to do in our lives so that our righteousness will shine. Not that we have any righteousness in ourselves but that His righteousness will shine forth through us convicting the wicked of their ways. Causing those without hope to be drawn to Him through us so that they too may have that hope and peace. When he says to cease from anger and forsake wrath because it only causes harm no truer words were ever spoken. We need to apply this to every situation that rises up before us whether it will be with a believing brother or sister or a nonbeliever. Who does this harm it harms everyone involved most of all it harms and hurts the heart of God. If anyone understood these three vs.it was David he had been anointed to be king over Israel by Samuel. Saul became his first enemy yet he had to trust the Lord to keep him safe. When he cut a piece of the cloak from Kings Saul he realized he had placed himself in danger with the Lord and repented. This is why the Lord put these things in his heart for us to learn. When we see our loved ones who we want saved prospering as their living and doing all kinds of evil wicked things that goes against the Word of God we need to do and put into practice what to Psalmist is saying here. Do not fret or get angry it will only cause harm! It will break relationships causing division which is one of the enemy's favorite tactics and drive them even further from the truth. It will hurt our own testimony and witness. Most importantly it will hurt the heart of God in our relationship with Him. Yes we can be forgiven when we repent but then we have to work on repairing the damage that was done because we lashed out in anger. I speak for myself in these situations as well. But praise God because he does give us grace forgiveness and opportunities and restores all things for His namesake!
