Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters James 1:22 James 1:22 says, "but be doers of the Word, not just hearers only, deceiving yourselves". This is a powerful little statement. I know I'm always encouraging everyone to be into the Word of God every day but James is telling us that just reading the Word of God is not enough. We must also practice it and do what it says otherwise we are deceiving ourselves. We are most definitely saved by the sacrifice of Yeshua and not by works. But it is by our works that the world sees we are different. Working together as one body not judging our brothers and sisters but showing love always. Allowing the Holy Spirit to teach and convict them in what to practice and how to apply the word of God to their lives. Yes we are to tell them the things we have been shown after that we leave it and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. As we as individuals go into God's Word on a daily basis, sit at His feet, He will show us what to do. Then we are to go out and do it gladly being obedient in all things. For if we just read the Word of God and do not apply it to our lives than we are deceiving ourselves into thinking we are His disciples or children. For if we are His children than we ought to be obedient to Him who has bought us with a great price! Yes there is a cost involved and there are many in the world right now who are being challenged with that cost. Some are being held hostage for being obedient to go and help the poor and needy because of their conviction and their faith in Yeshua. While we pray that these people will be set free more than likely they will be put to death. Others are being forced to convert to another religion or face death. The days are coming when persecutions will become more common place. The church in China is still underground and there are other places in the world as well. But they hold fast to the hope they have in the God of Israel and Messiah Yeshua. They put their lives in danger to be doers of the Word not just hearers! I pray I would have the same strength as they do should I come face-to-face in that situation. Although even now we are becoming more quiet hoping to just live peaceably in what feels like many times a Babylonian world because of verbal repercussions. We need to be bold and strong and not afraid to continue putting our faith into action having our feet shod with the gospel of good news always. As the Lord leads us individually and corporately let us be doers of the word and not just hearers only!
