Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Remember Remember the Sabbath! Recently I was reading through the 10 Commandments when the word remember jumped out at me. Exodus 20:8 says, “ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, ... nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. This is pretty clear in my mind of exactly what we are supposed to do. Why was it then that God felt it necessary to write in there "Remember"! I'll tell you why because we "Forgot", we all know the seventh day is Saturday not Sunday. Yet how many of us want to go to the Farmer's market to get the new fresh vegetables in the summer because it's held on Saturday morning, or hit the yard sales, or catch up on our gardening. Our God is so Holy and Righteous, Patient, Compassionate and is so full of Love for us that He gave us the Sabbath. To take one day out of our week and do nothing but rest and enjoy Him. After the Lord God made all these wonderful things and gave us dominion over them He rested. He did not need to but he chose to as an example for us. He does not rest now He is constantly watching over us, blessing us, protecting us from things we don't even know. Yeshua our salvation is constantly interceding on our behalf. I know there's been much disappointment voiced over the last few years because they have removed the 10 Commandments from our schools and government offices etc.. But how can we rightfully complain when we don't even keep those commandments ourselves? Come Saturday I challenge you spend time with the Lord, put aside your work as best you can! It's great to go to church on Sunday morning, every day we need to worship the Lord! But let's re institute this day and this commandment! Let us put the Word of God into practice in our lives even if it's just starting with this and let us "Remember"! You'd be amazed at the wonderful things the Lord will do and show you! Yeshua said, "if you love me keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Remembering always our salvation comes from the blood of Yeshua and there are always exceptions to what we need to do on the Sabbath, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, just open your heart and mind to Him.
B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
