Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Love the Lord Your God The entire story of Israel and the Philistines in 1 Samuel 3, 4, 5, 6 absolutely fascinates me. After the Israelites finally get the Ark of God back they look inside of it and take out the territory offering the Philistines put in and God strikes them and they are fearful of the Lord again. So then they want the Ark moved to another city, once it's there the rest of Israel laments and wants the Ark of God back. So Samuel instructs them to get rid of all their idols and to return to God with their whole hearts minds and strength. This they agree to and they got rid of all their pagan gods that they had began worshiping. When they gathered together in Mizpah with the Ark of God the Philistines once again decide to try and take on Israel. This time it was different. Samuel told them to continue to cry out to God as he offered a spotless lamb. As they did so God sent thunder from heaven confusing the Philistines so that they ended up killing themselves before the Israelites. Then the Israelites were able to go in and plunder them. God also returned land to them that the Philistines had taken. A few things in this story stuck out to me. First of all their obedience and return to God was wholehearted, they got rid of all the pagan stuff and gods! And God received them back covering them with His Feathered Wings so that they did not even have to fight against the Philistines they just needed to trust in the Lord! The other thing was the offering of a spotless lamb! We all know who our spotless lamb is, Yeshua Messiah! If we do the same thing as the Israelites did, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit and get rid of any pagan things in our lives and love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind and strength than we do not need to fear anything that may try to come against us! We just need to cry out to the Lord our spotless lamb Yeshua has covered us with His blood and given us His Holy Spirit. We also have been given the same authority that Yeshua had while He was on earth. We are such a blessed people let us rejoice and give great thanks and love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, minds and strength and love our neighbors as ourselves! Fear not for the Lord our God is always with us!
