Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters The Presence of God In Luke 1:19 the Angel tells Zachariah "I am Gabriel who stands in the presence of God and was sent to speak to you...". As I pondered over this a couple of things struck me. First of all Gabriel tells Zachariah his name. Michael is the other Angel who also stands in the presence of God. These are the only two Angels that I have come across throughout Scripture that have names. Then I thought about the statement, "who stands in the presence of God". Can you imagine what it must be like just to stand in the presence of God all the time. Not only that Gabriel hints to the fact that he is there waiting to do God's bidding, usually to deliver a message as we see all through Scripture. The minute God tells Gabriel to go and do something he does it without question. As I pondered these two aspects first of imagining what it must be like in heaven! What it must be like to stand constantly in the presence of God Almighty! To see the beauty surrounding the throne, to hear the two cherubim crying out holy holy holy day and night as described in Revelation. All the other Angels joining in singing and worshiping and waiting ready to do what ever God commanded them. I then realized that though we may not see with our physical eyes right now we are actually always in the presence of God. His eyes are always on us. We may not always feel Him there but trust me Saints He is. Oh if we would only be aware of this fact constantly in our hearts and minds how different I know my actions would be! Not just my actions but my words. It's easy because we get caught up in what's going on around us. It's easy to get distracted that's why it's so important to take time every day look into the special gift of God's Word. Sit at His feet spend time in Thanksgiving and Praise once you start doing that you will experience the presence of the Almighty! Your life will begin to change things will begin to happen. The desires of your heart will become the desires of His heart. You will begin to see others through His eyes. Your prayer life will take on a whole new meaning. He will take you to places in Him you never thought possible, new heights that you thought were only for pastors or leaders. It only starts with a few minutes a day and you will become hungry and thirsty for half an hour and then a full hour. The next thing you know you're thinking about wanting to get away for a few days from all the hustle and bustle and worries of life. Because you have tasted the goodness of the Lord! That's what the Scripture means when it says "oh taste and see that the Lord is good" Psalm 34:8! Yes indeed no matter where you are or what you're doing God's presence is with you. You are His walking Temple! Be sure to give Him all the glory! B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
